Launch of Journey to EmploymenT (JET) framework

Thursday 16 May 2013, 8.30-10.30, London

We would like to invite you to the launch of the Journey to EmploymenT (JET) framework and accompanying resource book developed as part of the Inspiring Employability project. The event is being hosted by Nomura and will be an opportunity to learn more about our work to help charities and funders to understand and measure the impact of their work on youth employability.

Funded by Deutsche Bank and developed in consultation with an advisory group of charities, funders and researchers (including CDG, Tomorrow’s People, DWP and the Big Lottery Fund) the Journey to EmploymenT (JET) framework sets out seven key groups of factors that contribute to successful job outcomes, from emotional capabilities and attitudes, to qualifications and career management skills. The accompanying resource book presents evidence of each factor’s link to employment, suggests tools for measuring these, and provides advice on the practicalities of conducting an evaluation.

David Pritchard of NPC will be chairing the event, and delegates will hear presentations from: Dawn Plimmer of NPC, the Big Lottery Fund and an employability charity.

To reserve a place please RSVP to Rebecca Goodbourn, rebecca.goodbourn@thinknpc.org, 020 7620 4862.

Preview of the code of good impact practice

Thursday 6 June 2013, 10am-12pm, Edinburgh

Inspiring Impact will in June launch the first ever set of guidelines on what good impact practice looks like in the non-profit sector, after consultation across the sector. The Code of Good Impact Practice is intended to help charities, funders and commissioners in forming realistic and appropriate understandings of what good impact practice looks like for non-profit organisations.

This event will preview the finalised Code in Scotland, and give participants a chance to engage, debate and think about applying the Code within their work.

  • Hear from the Inspiring Impact team about the development of the Code.
  • Be taken through the Code’s key principles.
  • Reflect on and discuss the Code’s content.

NPC and Evaluation Support Scotland will be on hand to introduce you to the Code and hear your perspectives on putting it into practice. You’ll hear about Inspiring Impact’s future plans, and have a chance to feed into them, as well as engaging more closely with the programme in future.
